The Panda International Forest Camp in Sichuan province's Yingjing county — the first nature education school inside China's Giant Panda National Park — has welcomed more than 80,000 visitors since its official opening in 2021, establishing a successful model for community planning and ecotourism management at national parks.
The camp is situated within a general control area of the park where limited human activity is allowed, making its rich biodiversity and lush forests ideal for ecological education, said Liu Wenxue, president of the camp school, which was jointly established by local national park management, tourism authorities and a private tourism company.
